From Our President
Thank you! Thank you for everything you've done, are doing, and will do to protect our Democracy!
The Prop 50 election shows that when we get behind a righteous cause, we can deliver extraordinary results. Retaking control of Congress and electing Democrats up and down the ballot in 2026 are the next steps in our pro-Democracy movement.
Detailed results of the election, such as turnout by party, and vote totals by city and precinct, will be available in early December. However, we can already see a modest improvement in closing the vote gap between Democrats and Republicans in Placer County and when available, we'll analyze these results on the effectiveness of our outreach especially here in Lincoln. What I can tell you is that we executed on just about every item in our 2025 plan, and our club has swelled to over 600 enthusiastic members. Lincolnites have been engaged in our volunteer activities across the board, and the momentum coming out of the Prop 50 election is palpable.
With the wind at our backs, we need to hit the ground running for the 2026 election. Our Club’s Executive Board will meet on November 17th to develop a strategy and plan of action for 2026, to be presented at a workshop early next year. At that time, we’ll invite our members to take part in helping us shape a final version of our plan, and to volunteer for committees that will bring it to life in 2026. Your participation will be vital to our success — please stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved.
I hope to see you at the Ro Khanna Town Hall on November 11th, where many of our 2026 candidates will be present; at the next DCL monthly meeting on November 20th, and at our Holiday Party on December 18th.
Looking forward to working with all of you in helping us move Democracy Forward in 2026! Thank you!
… Ruth Cox, President – Democratic Club of Lincoln
